What
a wonderful and exciting start to the new school year. The students have been
eager to share their ideas and stories with each other. We are currently
enjoying the novel Be a Perfect Person
In Just Three Days, a story about a boy who seeks to be perfect in
three days rather than an astronaut or a ballet dancer. You might be interested
to know that this story also involves challenges and broccoli. The students
spent some time learning to look at objects/shapes in the school in a different
way. When we discovered a shape or a letter the students were eager to share
the findings with others. Today the students were challenged to use a rubber
band, string, cups and two partners to construct a pyramid. The trick was they
could not touch the cups with their hands and everyone had to be a part of the
solution. The conversation and ideas were very interesting as we explored this
challenge. In Physical Education, we have been playing a variety of tag type
activities that get us moving quickly. Tomorrow we have an assembly to introduce
the staff to the students and have the opportunity to hear a story at 8:00 in
the morning.
Good Start.
