We ended our day with
the introduction of a new physical education activity called “Long Base”. This
activity focused on the skills of running, kicking and catching. It was a very
engaging activity for the end of the day and each team started to develop
strategies when they were in the field. Our day started with us reflecting on
the quality of our work and how to use criteria to develop our ideas. We
watched a video called, “Austin’s Butterfly” and discussed what type of
feedback was given to Austin a grade 1 student as he continued to develop his
final product. As a class we worked in partners to provide specific details
about our creative journal activities. We had the opportunity to then use that
feedback to further develop our ideas. The rest of our morning involved the SLA
for Numeracy. After lunch we read quietly and found out that we will receive
our Raz-Kids passwords tomorrow. We also have a Brightspace for our classroom
that has links for math activities related to geometry. We continued to develop
our understanding of pyramids and prisms. Tomorrow we have our Numeracy Performance Task in the morning. Just a reminder it is “Toonies for Terry” as
we have our Terry Fox run this Friday, September 30th.
