We continued to work
on our Picasso Head portraits and some of us were able to begin adding cool and
warm tones to it. For tomorrow we plan on using the same idea but creating a
Polygon Head. We are going to be asked to use just one shape to create a
portrait. It will be interesting to compare the two portraits together when
they are finished. We finally finished the last of the SLAs Numeracy
Performance Task today. Today we received our RazKids information to take home.
We were asked to try and do one a night if possible. To go with our reading we
have been asked to think about reading using the reading powers: connect,
question, visualize, infer and transform. It was interesting to look at a small
idea then discuss how it can grow into a large idea. In the afternoon we had a
practice fire drill. We discussed how important it was for us to move quickly
and quietly out of the building and listen for directions. Our fall leaves
display went up outside of the class today. It was very colourful and really
showed our use of warm and cool tones. Don’t forget on Friday it is “Toonies
for Terry” in the Terry Fox run.
