What is identity? We
continued to explore what is identity today through the video If the World Were a Village. The
categories we focused on were food, celebrations/festivals, shelter, languages,
clothing, sports, transportation and geographical regions. Our thinking on
geographical regions is that it may affect our other topics, but we would need
to further investigate this area. Using the video we created a web and using “I
see…” looked for specific examples on the video. We stopped the video and
discussed what we observed and had time to share with our partners and the
larger class. In physical education we were introduced to the game of Long
Ball. This required several skills such as kicking, throwing, running, reacting
and teamwork. It was a game that we will need to play a few more times to get
it down. In math we reviewed identifying polygons and labeling polygons by
their number of sides. During health we worked on finishing our self portraits
and have HEART creative journal pages. Did you know that Friday is early dismissal? Please join us on Thursday, September 15 between 6-8 pm for curriculum night at the school.
