Spring Weather

Hello Parents & Guardians, Due to the unfortunate wet weather we have been experiencing we are asking parents to send a spare change of clothing and plastic bag in your child’s backpack.   There has been many students who come to the office with wet clothing and we unfortunately do not have dry clothing on hand. Also,  please take a moment to check out our lost and found items, as we will be donating any unclaimed items on May 5th. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Please continue to vote for our school's playground opportunity - here!  Reminder: Grade 3 Learning Assembly is on Friday, April 28 at 8:3am. Thank you to those students and families who came to Student Led Conferences on Monday. We are thankful for each one of the learners in our community and are proud of the growth we have seen.

Home Reading has started! Each student has been provided with a "just right" book for home reading. Please read the letter and together with your child discuss the reading strategies we have been using at school. This will be useful for your conversations at home!

Today Denise Miller from Swansong Story Telling came to visit us again! This time her aboriginal tales involved coyotes. We learned the reason why coyotes have an orange tinge to their eyes is because... (ask your child to complete that sentence).

As a reminder, the grade 3 Learning Celebration Assembly will be taking place Friday, April 28th at 8:30am. Parents and families are invited to the gym for this brief gathering!

 The grade 3 learning assembly will be on April 28. Mrs. Buonomo has asked students to practice this song at home. This is an opportunity for students to share their learning, and our focus will be around Earth Day. Parents are invited, so save the date :)

The grade 3 classes are going on a field trip! On May 4, 2017 we will be going to Studio Bell. In order to make this possible, we will be needing some volunteers. If you have your completed police clearance and would like to help us out, please email Mrs. Steckly as soon as possible!

As a reminder there are no classes on Friday or Monday. Student led conferences are on Monday, please make sure to sign up online :)

Happy Mindful Monday!


We were glad to be back at school today. In I.S. we have moved from Rocks & Minerals and will be exploring soil. During math we review multiplication, all the strategies we have learned, and will begin to tie this into a literacy project. Speaking of literacy....tomorrow we have a very special guest coming in tomorrow to talk to us and work with us on story writing. Check out Cathy Beveridge's website here.
