Wondering Wednesday,

Today we started our
grand conversations after independently reading a specific book for fifteen
minutes. Then we were able to gather into our small groups or partners to
discuss our book. One person led the discussions and everyone had to say
something about what they heard, read or even questions they might have. We
discovered that everyone read to different places in their books, but that just
made it interesting in our discussions. Afterwards we challenged ourselves to write 6-8 sentences focusing on
what happened in our story and then we selected a sentence starter to add to our
writing. We have been asked to provide evidence to support what we are writing
about. In the afternoon we continued exploring mapping skills specifically the
compass rose and reading directions using the clues and the key. Just a
reminder that tomorrow and Friday is parent teacher conferences.
