Dear Parents & Families -

A quick note, we will performing Drum Fit at tomorrow assembly. All families are welcome to come and join us at 8:30am in the gym!


Today we worked on writing our own math word problems. We co-wrote the questions below!


The answer is 512. What is the question?

Addition Word Problem
Write out the addition sentence

206+306= 512


Suleman was collecting books for the Great Book Exchange at Ken Taylor School. Since he a part of the leadership team, he was in charge of sorting and counting the books. There were 206 picture books and 306 chapter books. How many books in total?

10+2+400+100= 512

In Room 154 the students were building bridges. In order to build them, they required materials. They need 10 large pieces of paper, 2 packages of straws, 400 piece of tape, and 100 popsicle sticks. How many materials did they require in total?


Subtraction Word Problem
Write out the subtraction sentence
550 - 38=512

The Washington Capitals scored a total of 550 goal within the 2016/2017 season. Ovechkin scored 38 goals himself. How many goals did the other players score?


Ask your child to show you another way to add/subtract to get 512. Write a word problem!
